Job Description

Description Key Responsibilities: + Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes and necessary supplies. + Ensure all equipment is functional and properly sterilized before procedure. + Assist the surgical team during operations, including passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field. + Count sponges, needles and intruments before and after procedures to ensure accuracy. + Handle specimens in an appropriate fashion. + Help transfer patients to and from the operating room. + Clean and restock the OR following surgeries. + Comply with infection control and safety guidelines at all times. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program or relevant experience - required Certification as a Surgical Technologist - preferred 2 years hospital based experience - preferred BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association - required Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and medical terminology Excellent teamwork, communication and organizational skills UCLA Health welcomes all individuals, without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin or disabilities, and we proudly look to each person's unique achievements and experiences to further set us apart.
