Kilgore College offers a strong and robust collegiate music program with several unique course offerings and performing ensembles including KC Chorale, KC Connection (Choir), Wind Symphony, Marching Band, Chamber Ensembles (Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Strings, Piano), Big Band Jazz Ensemble String Ensemble, and Steel Band in a department with approximately 100 music students regularly enrolled. The Department of Music and Dance is seeking qualified instructors in Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Classical & Jazz Piano, Classical & Jazz Guitar, Electric Bass to begin in Fall of 2023. All positions will be required to physically report to the Kilgore or Longview campus location for class.
• Applied Private Lesson Teaching at the college level
• Possible Masterclasses with ensembles
• Coordinates with the Director of Instrumental Music
• Master’s Degree
• Professional Performing Experience and Focus
• Team Teaching capability in the college environment
• Teaching Experience in the college/university/secondary environments preferred
• Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
Audition/Interview
• Complete an audition/interview process
• Demonstrate solo performance skills through recorded or live solo works
• Demonstrate teaching abilities through recoded or live teaching of a student(s)
• Discuss pedagogy, concepts, and recruiting with the staff

The final chosen candidates will be required complete paperwork for Kilgore College, and will be recommended in purchasing liability insurance through an organization like the Texas Music Educators Association.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
